“Mindful Schools In-class Instruction.” Youtube.com. 29 June 2010. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMK481p5wWM
The teaching of ‘mindful thinking’ in schools can help increase the ability of children to view the world differently and be more in control of their emotions. This can be achieved by teaching children how to use all of their senses for a task, instead of just one, and to take extra time to truly analyze the events/ happenings around them. The reality of what is really going on can be learned, and therefore proper action can be carried out by them. For example, instead of yelling and pushing over a disagreement on the playground, they can use their words. This source is different from my others because it doesn’t address the typical education of children; however, it still does present a program that can be used to promote learning in children. Mindful Schools has taught over 8000 children in 34 Bay Area schools, 74% of which serve low-income children. They want to promote the success of the children they teach, just as my other sources aim for the same goal.
Nice. I like how you're putting your sources into conversation with one-another. Your drawing connections, which is really key for this sort of work. :)
