Question

How is Head Start helping the children they service? What is working and what isn't working and why? How can things be improved? Does Head Start need to be improved? What steps must Head Start follow to better themselves? What policies are in place?

  1. Hi Tina:

Lots of interesting questions here, but I think it would be a good idea for you to narrow down a bit (a lot). Both Riley and Alberto had fairly manageable questions, so you might want to look to their work as a sort of template?

Alternately, looking at how head start helps the children they service in some specific way seems promising. Or perhaps you could look at the methods used in head-start classrooms (perhaps your head-start classroom) and talk about how they might be improved in some way (while acknowledging that good things are nonetheless happening, if in fact they are)?

  2. I love how you are asking almost the same questions I find myself asking. I found it really hard to narrow down the topic because we haven't actually had a chance to work with the kids yet. A suggestion might be to weed out all but one of those questions and ask yourself what more could be addressed in that particular field. Also I really liked the extended bibliography you did on play based learning. I think it would be really cool if you could formulate a question that will either incorporate or address that topic.
